Reception

  • Mrs. Elaine Flournoy

Elaine Flournoy has been a veterinary receptionist since August of 2000. As a receptionist, she is usually the first and last person the client encounters, as a result her position carries a great deal of responsibility to the livelihood of the practice. Her duties can seem as simple as greeting everyone (both human and those of the animal kingdom) that walk through the door and answering the forever ringing phone to the complexities of coordinating and orchestrating surgical and annual appointments to reassuring the concerned parents of her patients.

She has always had a special relationship with animals. This began with her childhood pet cat “Tiger” who was loved for 13 years to her present family of 2 cats "Camp Gordon Johnston", also known as Gordon, who she rescued from a very uncertain future, and "Jersey Girl", who rode all the way from New Jersey to Florida on a freight train, but that’s another story.

She is a “Native Floridian” and grew up in Leon County, but resides in Crawfordville with her husband Don. Elaine enjoys small towns and coastal atmosphere which encourage her artistic endeavor of painting and home decor. She is a lifelong collector of antiquities and collectibles and enjoys running.  Reaching out to those in need can be a very rewarding experience, especially when they have four paws and a tail. Having this opportunity everyday which affords one a livelihood as well is a rarity in itself.
